GUNNISON COUNTY SELECTS CCI’S ENCOMPASS SUITE
FORT COLLINS, Colo., February 17, 2010 – Colorado CustomWare, Inc. (CCI) welcomes Gunnison County, Colorado, as one of its latest customers. Gunnison County purchased both CCI’s CAMA solution, RealWare, for the Assessor’s office and Collections product, CollectWare, for the Treasurer’s office. Kristy McFarland, Gunnison County’s assessor, practiced due diligence by researching and comparing multiple CAMA vendors over the last two years before deciding that CCI was the best choice for her office.
“The RealWare product is not only written in a current software language (.NET), it is a highly intuitive system which will aid in employees’ efficiency and productivity,” McFarland said. “The transparency and logic of the system’s interface will help employees’ overall understanding of the assessment process. This will allow greater accuracy in setting value and the ability to provide more information to the public about their property and value.”
Ko Clifton, CCI’s lead business development specialist, worked with both the assessor’s and treasurer’s offices during the purchase process. “Working with Gunnison County was a unique opportunity. As both Kristy and the treasurer, Melody Marks, continued to evaluate our company and software in an organized and methodical fashion, we came to appreciate the way they place such a high value on wisely spending taxpayer money.”
McFarland says she chose CCI because of her confidence in the culture of the company. “CCI’s management team and company culture were factors that induced Gunnison County to choose CCI. CCI’s employees are accessible, friendly and sincerely interested in the success of their product. It is clear that CCI management has invested in and cares about its employees, and the reciprocal care is reflected in the product.”
With 21,500 parcels, Gunnison County is one of the most unique counties in Colorado. Two of the nation’s biggest low-sulphur coal mines are in Gunnison County, as well as a marble quarry (which provided marble for the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC), Crested Butte Mountain Ski Resort, Western State College, vast public lands, two reservoirs, world class fly-fishing rivers, a historic district designation for the town of Crested Butte, extensive ranchlands, and every type of structure from rustic cabins to trophy homes.
Gunnison County was able to purchase CCI’s Encompass Suite with help from a grant from the Department of Local Affairs, Energy and Mineral Impact Assistance Program.
